As part of its digital service initiative, the Municipality of Héron encourages residents to opt for electronic receipt of their municipal waste tax. This aims to reduce paper usage and simplify administrative tasks.
The eBox Citoyen is a secure electronic mailbox provided by public authorities. It allows users to view documents and messages from various public services online, offering convenient access to administrative documents without the need to keep paper mail.
To activate My eBox, users should visit www.myebox.be, log in using a digital key like itsme or their electronic identity card (eID), configure their profile with their email address, preferred language, and consent. An email verification code confirms activation. Users will then receive email notifications for new documents.
From the end of October, citizens will receive an email prompting them to check their eBox for their waste tax payment notice. A QR code will also be available to facilitate payment.
The benefits include simple and secure access to administrative documents from anywhere, email notifications for new documents, reduced paper consumption, and simplified procedures, contributing to more efficient public services.
For those not yet using My eBox, the website www.myebox.be is available. The Municipality assures that postal mail delivery will continue for citizens who do not use digital tools.
