BE-Alert is the alert system used by Belgian authorities. In emergencies, a mayor, governor, or the Minister of the Interior can use it to notify the public. BE-Alert messages provide information about the emergency situation and the safety measures to take.
The system can transmit alerts via SMS, a voice message over a landline, or email. To ensure message reception, it is recommended to register on the website www.be-alert.be with updated contact details. Multiple addresses and phone numbers can be registered to receive alerts for home, work, or family emergencies.
Registration and receiving messages are free. The data collected is used solely for emergency alerts.
