Starting October 15, 2026, the City of Hannut is simplifying public domain occupation procedures with a new online platform.

For any occupation of public domain in Hannut, whether for works, moving, placing a container, crane, or scaffolding, a new online platform will be available from October 15, 2026. This digital tool will allow citizens and businesses to submit, track, and manage their public domain occupation requests directly from a computer or smartphone, replacing old paper forms.
The process is straightforward: after creating an account on the godp.be portal, users select their status (private, company, or association) and submit their request in a few clicks. They choose Hannut, specify the project type (construction site, container, move, etc.), define the occupation dates and times, enter the necessary contact information, and precisely locate the area of impact on an interactive map. Potential nuisances on the public highway are also detailed.
Once the file is submitted to the municipal service, applicants receive an automatic email notification as soon as their request is processed and approved, with the official authorization attached. The personal space allows users to check the status of their requests, download authorized documents, or duplicate an existing request.
For public domain occupation requests related to works (scaffolding, dumpster, material deposit, machinery, crane, sidewalk or road occupation, moving requiring public domain occupation), a request must be submitted at least 10 working days before the occupation begins. Special traffic measures, such as temporary speed limits or one-way restrictions, may also be requested for construction sites or events, after analysis by the police services.
Citizens can also view current police orders in the territory via https://public.godp.be/. For assistance, call 019/51.93.78.
