“"We took these reports very seriously. There was no question of standing by idly while waiting for a technical solution to be deployed. We therefore chose to invest immediately in people, by strengthening the on-site presence. The fact that no new thefts have been reported to us in a week is encouraging. The Executive Bureau's intention is clear: to allow everyone to enjoy our facilities peacefully. The safety and well-being of our users remain a priority, and we will continue to take the necessary measures to guarantee them."

In response to reported thefts in the AquaHuy changing rooms, the Huy Sports Authority has increased human presence near the lockers with an additional agent, awaiting a technical solution.
In recent weeks, several thefts have been reported in the changing rooms of the AquaHuy aquatic center. In response, the Huy Sports Authority has decided to act swiftly by strengthening human surveillance. An additional worker, hired under the "article 17" scheme, has been assigned to monitoring and prevention in the changing room areas. This temporary measure, which will be extended for two weeks, aims to provide paid employment and professional experience to the worker while ensuring a deterrent presence.
Since the implementation of this increased presence, no new thefts have been reported, which is an encouraging initial finding for the Authority. This immediate human intervention was prioritized while awaiting the deployment of a longer-term technical solution.
In parallel, the Huy Sports Authority is studying, with a specialized provider, the installation of new surveillance cameras focused exclusively on the lockers. The objective is to enhance the security of swimmers' personal belongings while preserving their privacy and complying with video surveillance regulations for such establishments. This solution, however, requires prior technical and administrative adaptations.
Despite these measures, the Huy Sports Authority nevertheless advises users to maintain good safety practices, particularly by avoiding leaving valuables in the changing rooms. Anyone who is a victim of theft is also encouraged to report it immediately to staff and to file a complaint with the police. With these initial measures and the preparation of a complementary technical system, the Huy Sports Authority; its Executive Bureau, its Board of Directors, and its management; reaffirms its commitment to ensuring a welcoming, secure, and serene environment for all visitors to AquaHuy.
