Following a two-year period of extensive renovation work, the Education and Early Childhood services of the municipality of Flémalle have moved back into their premises. These are located in the former Town Hall of Flémalle-Grande and were officially inaugurated on October 6.
The building, constructed in the 1950s and used by municipal education services since the commune merger, underwent a comprehensive renovation. The project aimed to modernize the structure while preserving its original architectural identity. Key elements such as the facades, openings, ironwork, stone and brick base, and the grand interior staircase have been retained.
The interior spaces have been redesigned to better meet the current needs of the services and provide a more suitable working and reception environment. This reorganization aims to facilitate the reception of school directors, educational teams, and Flémalle families, making this building a place of proximity serving the educational community.
The renovation also brought significant improvements in comfort and energy performance. This initiative is part of the revitalization efforts for the center of Flémalle and the Grand’Route, giving new life to a piece of communal heritage.
