Created in June in Liège, the show "The Voiceless King" begins its tour this Tuesday, September 29 in Wanze, before a stop in Brussels.

After its premiere in Liège in June, "The Voiceless King" begins its tour this Tuesday, September 29 at the Wanze Cultural Centre, with two performances scheduled at 10 am and 1:30 pm. The show will then travel to Brussels, to the Montagne Magique, the following day for a performance at 10:45 am as part of the "Chanson à l’école" showcase.
This project, conceived by André Borbé, aims to create a "popera" accessible to children from two and a half years old. It features an authoritarian little king who loses his voice and discovers, thanks to a singing little queen, a new way to communicate. The play addresses the theme of communication without seeking to speak louder than others.

"If we want to reach new audiences, not all shows can wait for those audiences to push open the doors of an opera house."

André Borbé · Author, composer, director, and performer
Designed to be light and self-sufficient, "The Voiceless King" was conceived from its inception to travel and adapt to various cultural venues frequented by children. The sets and costumes were created in the Ateliers of the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, taking into account the show's mobility.
On stage, André Borbé is joined by singers and educators Marie Billy and Zoé Pireaux, with musical collaboration from Hervé Borbé. This tour extends the project's purpose: to bring youth productions closer to children by going to meet them.
