The Citizens' Council is launching a call for proposals to define the theme for its next assembly, scheduled for Autumn 2027. Residents of East Belgium are invited to submit their ideas and vote for the most relevant suggestions.

Following eight citizens' assemblies, the next one is planned for Autumn 2027. The Citizens' Council is seeking new theme ideas and is therefore launching a call for proposals from the public. Every resident of East Belgium can suggest a theme and/or vote on the submitted proposals.
Proposals can be submitted by post, email, or via an online form on the citizens' dialogue website. The submitted text should include a title, an explanation of the theme, and a justification for why it is suitable for a citizens' assembly. Theme proposals must concern the responsibilities of the German-speaking Community and must not be discriminatory.
The period for submitting proposals and voting runs from November 18 to December 18, 2026. Once a proposal is received, it will be checked for admissibility and then published on the citizens' dialogue website for voting. The Citizens' Council will then select the theme for the next citizens' assembly in the new year, taking into account how many votes a proposal has gathered.
Detailed information will be announced by the Citizens' Council on the citizens' dialogue website at www.buergerdialog.be. Inquiries are possible at +32 87 318 422 or buergerdialog@pdg.be.
