Due to drought conditions, the governor has issued a police decree imposing strict measures to prevent fires. It is now forbidden to light open fires in forests and within a 100-meter radius of vegetated areas, unless explicit permission is granted by the mayor. These prohibitions aim to protect nature and infrastructure.
The decree also prohibits the use of certain devices and practices, such as portable cooking appliances that generate heat, burning green waste, and using thermal weed killers. The use of fireworks and sky lanterns is also forbidden without prior mayoral approval.
Furthermore, smoking and carelessly discarding cigarettes or other flammable items are prohibited. Handling small and large fireworks, including Bengal fires and fire sticks, as well as using any material that could produce sparks, is also banned. Parking vehicles outside of paved or gravel-covered areas is also restricted, especially on grassy road and path edges.
Barbecuing remains permitted under strict safety conditions: constant supervision, maintaining distance from vegetation, and having extinguishing agents readily available.
“"Even small oversights can cause significant damage to forests, nature, and infrastructure, and endanger people."
The forestry administration reminds the public of the importance of adhering to these rules to prevent fires. Citizens are urged to immediately report any suspicious smoke or fires by calling the emergency number 112.
