Based in Waremme, Colona, a family business specializing in the manufacture of cold emulsified sauces, is showing remarkable growth. It currently produces over 45,000 tons of sauces annually, employs nearly 200 collaborators, and exports approximately 90% of its production.
A member of Wagralim for many years, Colona actively participates in the cluster's initiatives. The company emphasizes the importance of networking to stay connected with sector developments, share best practices, and foster new collaborations with players in the Walloon agri-food industry.
To support its development, Colona also relies on several aid schemes from Wallonia. The company has submitted a significant investment aid application as part of a program worth nearly 20 million euros over three years. This program covers infrastructure, production equipment, and innovation projects.
Another strategic lever involves the Start IA and Tremplin IA schemes, which enable Colona to accelerate its digital transformation. Thanks to this support, several concrete artificial intelligence projects are being deployed to optimize key processes and enhance competitiveness.
On the occasion of Food Connection, Colona reiterated how regional aid acts as a true growth accelerator, supporting companies in their investments, innovation, and transition towards future challenges.
