Each year, over 11,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in Belgium. Mammography allows for early detection, maximizing chances of complete recovery and avoiding more aggressive treatments. As part of this campaign, the Mammobile from the Province of Liège will soon visit the commune. Women born between 1957 and 1976 and residing in the commune will receive an invitation letter.
The Mammobile of the Province of Liège is an unit accredited by the Coordination and Reference Centre for Cancer Screening (CCRef asbl). This screening is free and recommended every 2 years.
The Mammobile's visit is scheduled for October 2, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Tests are by appointment only at +3242794340 (from 9 AM to 12 PM and 1 PM to 4 PM) to verify participants' eligibility.
To undergo a Mammotest, the following conditions must be met: be a woman aged 50 to 69, possess a Belgian National Register identification number, be registered with a Belgian mutual health insurance, not have had a Mammotest in the previous calendar year, and provide the name and contact details of a doctor or gynecologist whose practice is located in Belgium.
On the day of the examination, it is advisable to bring the invitation letter (if possible), your identity card, two mutual health insurance stickers, and the name and contact details of the referring physician.
It is recommended that women do not apply deodorant, powder, body lotion, or perfume to their breasts and underarms before the examination. It is also preferable to wear trousers or a skirt.
