The Hospi’durable festival offered two weeks of concrete actions focused on sustainable development and staff well-being at the Citadelle in Liège.

For two weeks, the Hospi’durable festival provided concrete initiatives for sustainable development and the well-being of staff at the regional hospital of the Citadelle. The event aimed to integrate sustainable practices into employees' daily lives, such as cycling to work, organizing walks with colleagues, repairing objects, cooking locally, or meeting producers.
The first week was a great success, with over 65 participants joining walks in the Citadelle Park and the surrounding hillsides. The desire for escape and discovery of the nearby environment was particularly appreciated. More than 70 cyclists gathered for a breakfast, and 20 bicycles received maintenance, highlighting the encouragement of soft mobility.
The festival also showcased innovation, with various start-ups incubated at Venturelab (HEC Liège) presenting their entrepreneurial projects in the Citadelle's entrance hall.
The second week featured activities such as the repair café, which was fully booked for both sessions, allowing everyday tools to be repaired by the hospital's technical teams. A cooking workshop, in collaboration with Interra ASBL, received enthusiastic feedback. Sewing workshops and garden visits also took place, fostering smaller group exchanges. Finally, a producers' market allowed visitors and colleagues to discover local products.
The Hospi’durable festival thus created opportunities to move, learn, and connect, strengthening the collective life within the hospital and the attention paid to daily work.
