The construction of the new pedestrian bridge connecting Fonds des Cris to Parc Hauster in the municipality of Chaudfontaine has been postponed. These works, scheduled to begin on October 12, 2026, will impact local traffic.
An initial phase of preparatory work for the concrete wall construction will take place from October 12 to October 23. During this period, traffic will be managed with alternating lanes at the intersection of Fonds des Cris and Avenue des Thermes.
Subsequently, a complete closure of this intersection is planned from October 23 to November 4 inclusive. The company in charge of the site will use this time to secure the excavation pit for the footbridge foundations with concrete walls.
Diversion routes will be implemented. Between Chaudfontaine and Beaufays/Louveigné, drivers will be directed via Vaux-sous-Chèvremont, Fléron, Magnée, Trooz, and Louveigné. The reverse route will also be signposted. To reach Liège from Beaufays, travelers will need to take the N30 towards Chaudfontaine.
Temporary signage will guide motorists. Users are advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow for extra travel time. Alternating traffic is expected to resume on November 5, once the intersection is reopened.
The completion of the concrete walls will then reduce the construction site's footprint on the roadway, allowing for one traffic lane to remain open during the subsequent phases of work.
