Due to the difficult weather conditions forecast for the coming days, the City of Seraing has decided to implement several precautionary measures to ensure public safety.

According to forecasts from the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM), storm Austen is expected to hit the Liège region starting this Friday, October 23, 2026, with wind gusts potentially reaching 80 km/h. These conditions pose significant risks, particularly due to the potential for falling branches or trees, as well as flying objects and light structures.
In light of this situation, and as a precautionary measure, the City of Seraing has decided to restrict access to certain public spaces and suspend several activities within its territory.
Consequently, all parks, playgrounds, cemeteries, and forests in the Seraing area will be closed to the public from Friday, October 23 at 11:00 AM to Saturday, October 24 at 10:00 AM. An exception is made for cemeteries, where access will remain permitted for scheduled burials on October 23 and 24.
Furthermore, the weekly markets in Seraing-Bas (rue Janson) and Seraing-Haut (place Merlot), scheduled for Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24 respectively, have been canceled. The funfair located on the esplanade de l’Avenir will also be closed from Friday, October 23 to Saturday, October 24 at 10:00 AM.
The announced weather conditions also lead to the cancellation of the Halloween walk organized at Val Saint-Lambert on October 23 and 24. The same applies to the Cirque de l’Horreur, which is canceled this Friday.
