The German-speaking Community (DG) is reporting significant success in its coordinated effort against the Asian hornet, thanks to the commitment of municipalities, beekeeping associations, and citizens.

A concerted approach by the 9 municipalities within the German-speaking Community (DG) is proving effective in combating the Asian hornet. This initiative, a result of close collaboration with the Eupen Beekeeping Association, the St. Vith Beekeeping Association, the DG Assistance Zone, and the active participation of numerous citizens, has successfully captured over 270 founding queens of this invasive species to date.
This important step helps to curb the spread of the invasive species and to protect our native biodiversity. A big thank you goes out to everyone involved for their dedication.
