Currently, wastewater from Petit-Hallet and Grand-Hallet is discharged into the Henri Fontaine stream via approximately fifteen outlets. This new project aims to establish a modern network to collect this wastewater and transport it to the Wansin treatment plant for proper processing.
The construction will involve laying a new wastewater collector, building a pumping station at the lower end of rue des Caïades in Petit-Hallet, creating a connecting pipe to this station, installing a discharge pipe to convey water to the Wansin treatment plant, and undertaking several watercourse crossings.
This initiative represents a significant investment in environmental protection, improving watercourse quality, and enhancing the living environment for residents.
Preparatory work, including necessary tree felling along the route, will commence at the end of September. The main construction will start between late September and early October, beginning in the area of the future pumping station and progressing towards Petit-Hallet. Work in Grand-Hallet, particularly on rue Émile Duchesne, is scheduled from mid-October, running from late October 2026 to March 2027, with potential adjustments.
To minimize disruption, the project will proceed in sections. Once a portion is completed, it will be temporarily covered with gravel to allow traffic before the work moves to the next section. Final resurfacing will occur at the end of the project. Diversions will be implemented as the construction progresses to ensure safety.
