On October 12, 2026, the Municipal Council of Seraing approved the creation of a new road to serve a future residential complex of 56 housing units on Rue Xhavée in Jemeppe.

The project, spearheaded by the company Maison Blavier, plans for 22 single-family homes, 32 apartments, and two inclusion housing units. These latter units will be managed by the non-profit organization Coccinelles, adapted to the needs of their residents. Pedestrian pathways are also included in the development.
A public inquiry was held from May 30 to June 30, 2026. Two objections were filed, raising concerns about environmental preservation, rainwater management, mining subsoil, traffic, and the impact on neighboring properties. However, consulted authorities issued a favorable opinion, and the environmental impact assessment found no significant negative effects. The urban planning permit will also require the applicant to guarantee and repair any damage to neighboring properties caused by the works.
Several steps remain before construction can begin, which is not expected before 2028. The new road must be completed before the housing units are built. Following provisional acceptance by the City of Seraing, the new road and pedestrian paths will be transferred to the municipality free of charge.
