These new regulations aim to optimize vehicle turnover in designated areas. In all blue zones, the use of the European parking disc (electronic parking discs are not permitted) will be mandatory, with a maximum parking duration of 30 or 60 minutes depending on the street.
The blue zone covers several specific streets. A 30-minute limit will apply to Albertstraße (nos. 6 and 38), Lütticher Straße (nos. 199 to 209), Thimstraße (nos. 5 and 43-45), the lower part of Kirchstraße (no. 10), and on Kirchplatz (no. 1). A 60-minute duration will be in effect on Kirchplatz, the parking lots at the Parsonage, Poststraße (next to the police station), the entire parking lot of Albertstraße (Am Küsch), the full length of Albertstraße, Kapellstraße, Lütticher Straße (from Maxstraße corner to Lütticher Straße 242), Thimstraße, and Kirchstraße.
Private parking spaces marked within the blue zone are exempt from the tax. The regulation applies from Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 12 PM and from 2 PM to 6 PM, and on Saturdays from 9 AM to 4 PM. It is forbidden to use the same parking spot multiple times consecutively with the same disc. Vehicles must be moved after the free parking duration has expired. The daily tax for parking in a blue zone is set at 30 euros, except on Sundays and public holidays.
Exempt from the tax are vehicles of disabled persons with a valid permit displayed visibly, service vehicles of municipal employees (only during service hours at the municipal building), and service vehicles of public services (local and federal police, fire department, rescue services, energy and telecommunications providers, Post Office) on duty. Vehicles of the Weser-Göhl police zone on duty are also included.
The possibility to purchase a long-term parking card is offered to doctors, members of home care services, craftsmen in the course of their profession, and public health services. The prices for these cards are set as follows: €10.00 for a weekly card, €35.00 for a monthly card, €100.00 for a three-month card, and €390.00 for an annual card.
